LET OUR MOUNTAINS LIVE WITH WORLD PREMIERE AT CPH:DOX

The documentary Let Our Mountains Live, will have its world premiere at CPH:DOX in Copenhagen, Denmark (11.-22 March). It will be competing in the Nordic:Dox competition programme for Nordic documentary films and in the Human:Rights Award competition programme. The documentary is directed by Håvard Bustnes, co-written and co-produced with Kati Eriksen and Johannes Vang.

The documentary follows the process when Sámi reindeer herders win a Supreme Court victory against Europe’s largest wind farm – but when the state refuses to act, their fight reveals a deeper crisis of justice and trust. Let the Mountains Live documents the impact on the reindeer herding community, the legal process and the broader public debate that followed the Supreme Court decision.

ABOUT LET OUR MOUNTAINS LIVE

For twenty years, Sissel Stormo Holtan and Terje Haugen have fought to protect their ancestral grazing lands from Europe’s largest wind power project. Despite their protests, the Norwegian state allowed 151 massive turbines to be built on the Fosen mountains before the legal battle was even over.
