We are hiring a Head of Finance for a permanent position!

 

The International Sámi Film Institute (ISFI) is building a sustainable and leading Sámi film industry that is both internationally visible and attractive. ISFI is publicly funded, through the Ministry of Culture and the Sámi Parliament amongst others. As the Sámi film sector experiences rapid growth, ISFI is the driving force behind this development. With an increasingly leading position on the global stage, ISFI now collaborates with international partners such as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Netflix, the European Film Academy, and others.

To support this momentum, we are seeking a Head of Finance to strengthen our administrative team in a permanent position.

Position title: Head of Finance/ Økonomiansvarlig / Ekonomiija hálddašeaddji
Location: Guovdageaidnu (Kautokeino)
Deadline: June 25, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

As Head of Finance at ISFI, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the institute’s financial management in collaboration with our accounting firm and managing director, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Managing payroll and HR processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant financial and employment regulations.
  • Monitoring and reporting on ISFI’s grant portfolio and project finances, in close collaboration with the Head of Administration.
  • Contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  • Presenting financial reports to the board, together with the accountant and director.

 

Qualifications:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Sámi is an advantage, but not required. Fluency in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken, is essential.
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or equivalent education is an advantage.
  • Practical experience in finance, strategy, and personnel management is desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
