Sámi Film Industry and Media Education in Focus
We invite you to an online event on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, that will explore developments in Sámi film and media education.
The webinar highlights recent developments in Sámi film and media education across borders, presenting key findings from the Erasmus+ project “Creating Cross-Border Collaboration in Film Education in the Sámi Region and Piloting an Innovative Traineeship Programme Model for Sámi Film Productions,” co-funded by the European Union. This Erasmus+ project is a collaboration between the International Sámi Film Institute, Sámi Education Institute, and Kalix Folkhögskola.
The session will focus on best practices in Sámi film and media education and offer insights from the pilot traineeship programme in Sámi film productions. It will feature contributions from educators, students, and professionals involved in the project.
This event is open to all, free of charge, and will be in English. The event is organized and facilitated by the Sámi Education Institute.

About the Erasmus+ project
The Erasmus+ project focuses on sharing knowledge, networking, and strengthening the borderless collaboration in film education in the Sámi region. The project is a cooperation with the Sámi Education Institute, Kalix Folkhögskola, and the International Sámi Film Institute. The aim is to ensure that film education better meets the needs of the rapidly changing and developing film industry, especially the Sámi film industry.
