Distribution grants

This grant scheme is intended for the distribution of Sámi short films, documentaries, feature films, series, games, or other audiovisual productions. The purpose of the grant scheme is to help professional filmmakers and distributors reach both national and international audiences with Sámi film and audiovisual productions. Projects with children and young people as a target group are given particular priority.

Sámi film festivals can also apply for grants under this scheme.

• Sámi production company, either as executive or co-producer, whose primary objective is to engage in audiovisual production and is registered in the Sápmi, Norway or an EEA country.

• Distribution grants can be awarded to limited liability companies. Other companies and associations registered inthe Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities or Register of Business Enterprisesin Norway or another EEA country can also apply if the amount is less than NOK 300,000.

In order to receive a grant from ISFI, the applicant and project must meet ISFI’s general conditions.

The scheme is intended to help strengthen the export of Sámi films by providing grants for marketing and distribution.
Costs relating to participation at film and TV festivals can be included in distribution applications. This can also include travel costs for the main cast.

In connection with reporting, project accounts approved by an auditor are required if the grant is for NOK 200,000 or more. An accountant must otherwise have signed all accounts.

There are no application deadlines for distribution grants, and applications are processed on an ongoing basis.
