Dubbing grants

ISFI can support the dubbing of film projects to the Sámi languages in any genre.

  • ISFI provides grants for dubbing of film projects into Sámi languages in all genres. In addition to Sámi film productions, dubbing into Sámi languages is an effective means of increasing the number of Sámi language films, especially for children and young people. It is therefore ISFI’s objective to support the dubbing of productions into Sámi languages.

    • Sámi production companies, either executive or co-producers, whose primary objective is to engage in audiovisual production and that are registered in traditional Sámi areas, Norway or an EU/EEA country.
    • Dubbing grants can be awarded to limited liability companies. Other companies registered in the Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities or Register of Business Enterprisesin Norway or another EEA country can also apply if the amount is less than NOK 300,000.
  • In order to receive a grant from ISFI, the applicant and project must meet ISFI’s general conditions.

  • The scheme is designed to assist in making audiovisual productions available in Sámi languages and promote the use of the Sámi language in the fields of film and culture. Projects with children and young people as the target group are given particular priority.

In connection with reporting, project accounts approved by an auditor are required if the grant is for NOK 200,000 or more. An accountant must otherwise have signed all accounts.

  • There are no application deadlines for Dubbing grants and applications can be submitted as required.
