Johannes Vang selected as European Film Market Toolbox Fellow 2026

Filmmaker and producer Johannes Vang has been selected as European Film Market (EFM) Toolbox Fellow 2026 and will take part in the European Film Market (EFM) Toolbox Programme in 2026.

Each year, the International Sámi Film Institute (ISFI) selects one EFM Toolbox Fellow in collaboration with the Indigenous Cinema Alliance, as part of its commitment to strengthening Sámi and Indigenous producers’ access to the international film industry. Previous ISFI Toolbox Fellows include Espen Larsson (2025), Per Josef Idivuoma (2024), among others.

Johannes Vang  is a Sámi-Kven director and producer from Ráisa / Nordreisa, along the coast of Sápmi/ Norway. He is the founder of Aurinko Film and co-owner of Rett Vest, and works with stories rooted in Sámi, Kven, and Northern Norwegian society, culture, and identity. His recent works include the short films Áhčči (2024), For Our Rights (2025), and Red-Shaded Green (2025). Over the past year, these three films have been screened at over 30 different festivals in 10 countries, as well as more than 30 separate screenings and events across Sápmi. His latest short film Borderline is set to premiere at the Tromsø International Film Festival, where he will have two films selected for the 2026 edition: Borderline and Red-Shaded Green. Vang is currently co-writer and co-producer of the documentary Let Our Mountain Live with Håvard Bustnes, scheduled to premiere in 2026.
