LET OUR MOUNTAINS LIVE OPENS IN CINEMAS ACROSS NORWAY ON OCTOBER 9

La Fjella Leve / Baajh Vaeride Årrodh / Elloset Várit / Let Our Mountains Live opens in cinemas across Norway on Friday, October 9.

The documentary follows Sissel Stormo Holtan and Terje Haugen, who have spent twenty years fighting to protect their ancestral grazing lands on the Fosen mountains. Despite their protests and an ongoing legal battle, 151 wind turbines were built in the area.

The film had its world premiere at CPH:DOX and has screened at festivals including Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival and Movies that Matter amongst other. Festival screenings in Sweden and Finland are still to come.

The film is directed and produced by Håvard Bustnes of UpNorth Film, and co-written and co-produced with Johannes Vang of Aurinko Film and Kati Eriksen of Homeriver Media. Norsk Filmdistribusjon distributes the film in Norway.

For twenty years, Sissel Stormo Holtan and Terje Haugen have fought to protect their ancestral grazing lands from Europe’s largest wind power project. Despite their protests, the Norwegian state allowed 151 massive turbines to be built on the Fosen mountains before the legal battle was even over.
