Máhccan / Homecoming in competition for The Best Nordic Documentary 2024

Suvi West and Anssi Kömi’s documentary Máhccan / Homecoming is in competition for The Best Nordic Documentary at Nordisk Panorama 2024, amongst 14 other documentaries from the Nordic countries.

The winners will be announced at the annual Gala award in Malmö, Sweeden, September 24.th. The award goes to the director(s) of the winning film. The cash award of 11.000€ is sponsored by Nordic public broadcasters DR, NRK, RUV, SVT and YLE.

The documentary Máhccan / Homecoming premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2023 and was in the Official Selection for Tromsø International Film Festival 2024 and the Human International Documentary Film Festival 2024. It also received a Special Mention at Gøteborg Filmfestival 2023 and was awarded Best Documentary Film at The Jussy Award in Finland 2024.
