The International Sámi Film Institute announces a 100 % Film Consultant position

 

The film consultant is ISFI’s foremost film resource, representing our expertise in film, both externally and internally within our team. The position of the film consultant is a central role in the ISFI team and plays an important role in the development of ISFI and the Sámi film industry.

Main tasks of the Film Consultant:

1. Evaluate and provide advice on grant applications and collaborate with the director, administrator, and board of ISFI to make decisions.
2. Ensure the best possible development for film projects receiving funding from ISFI by providing advice and engaging in dialogue with filmmakers.
3. Establish and maintain connections with Sámi and indigenous film production environments.
4. Participate in ISFI’s team at national and international events in the film industry.
5. Actively enhance opportunities for Sámi filmmakers in both the Sámi and international film and TV sectors.

Who we’re looking for: 

• Proficiency in Sámi, one of the Nordic languages, as well as English, both spoken and written.
• A bachelor’s degree in film studies or extensive work experience in the film industry.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of the film industry and its significant role in society.
• Willingness to travel as needed, including internationally.

The position is initially for four years but can be extended. Salary to be negotiated.
