Many of the films are co-directed by Nenets filmmaker Anastasia Lapsui (born 1944) and her spouse Markku Lehmuskallio (born 1938). The renowned filmmakers, based in Finland, have traveled through Arctic Indigenous regions and made films for almost three decades. The duo have received several major awards, including Jussi Awards, Amanda Awards, and international recognition at festivals such as Berlinale Film Festival and many more.
