APPLY TO BE A PART OF THE IMPACT LAB WORKSHOP

International Sámi Film Institute, in partnership with Marché du Film, invites two emerging Sámi producers to apply for a unique opportunity to participate in the ImpACT Lab workshop at Marché du Film at the Festival de Cannes in May.
The impACT Lab is explicitly designed to help emerging producers develop essential skills needed for the ideal positioning of their projects in the global marketplace. The workshop has only ten participants, and we are now offering two producers the opportunity to participate with your feature film project.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
The impACT Lab is designed to foster international co-production opportunities and guide producers to create more meaningful, sustainable and impactful films.
Each workshop will feature emerging producers from partnering institutions and will take place online ahead of the Marché du Film, then in-person in Cannes. The workshops and networking events offers professionals an opportunity to exchange ideas, reflect on the current industry climate, engage in constructive debate and focus on the values inherent in a diverse film industry with content that speaks to all audiences.
The impACT Lab will cover key production issues including the evolution of funding in the current climate, the transition to sustainable production practices, and inclusion in every stage of production from script to screen and beyond. The program will mainly feature group sessions that will focus on topics such as sustainable market strategies and the definition of impactful content in the film industry and how it is evolving as time goes by.
The impACT Lab was designed specifically to help emerging producers develop essential skills needed for the ideal positioning of their projects in the global marketplace. The sessions will provide insider tips on how to best approach potential partners and create innovative funding opportunities to give these impactful projects greater scope on an international scale.

THE GOAL
The goal of the workshops is to help emerging producers master the skills needed to get their impactful projects off the ground and better position co-production projects, all to produce higher quality films and build up a network of sustainable content producers across the globe.

HOW TO APPLY
Register in the form below. Include a short motivation letter and summary of your CV. Please include the synopsis of the feature film you are working on, and a description of where you are in the process.
Application deadline:
February 17, 2026 (23:59 CET)
CRITERIA:
- Working on your first feature film
- Ideally with 20% of financing already in place
- Open to co-producing
- Interested in the topics covered in the workshops
- ISFI will let you know in week 8, by February 20th, if you are chosen to participate in the Impact Lab at Marché du Film.
Participation includes accommodation during the ImpACT Lab, Marché du Film-, and Producers Network accreditation. The travel cost can be covered by applying for our travel and competence grant. We have reserved a hotel rooms for two Impact Lab Producers for the onsite workshop dates. You will receive more information later.
ABOUT MARCHÈ DU FILM

Marché du Film welcomes over 15.000 participants from all over the world every year to Cannes, France. The Marché du Film is the business counterpart to the Cannes Film Festival. It’s one of the largest film markets in the world, where film industry professionals gather to buy, sell, finance, and distribute films, as well as to network and showcase their work. It provides a platform for filmmakers, producers, distributors, sales agents, and other industry professionals to engage in negotiations, screenings, and discussions related to the film business.
