OPEN CALL: Trainee for the drama series Oro jaska

APPLY AS A TRAINEE FOR THE SAMI YOUTH DRAMA SERIES ORO JASKA!

Are you interested in being part of a major series production? Do you want to gain deeper insights and hands-on experience in how the technical department operates? Or work with the art department during a production? Apply as a trainee for the Sami youth drama series Oro jaska!

As a part of an Erasmus+ project, the International Sámi Film Institute, the Sámi Education Institute, and Kalix folkhögskola offer a cross-border traineeship program, allowing young individuals to work as trainees in significant Sámi film and series productions.

About the “Oro jaska” production:

Oro jaska is a six-episode drama series for young adults where we follow a group of friends at Kárášjohka High School. The series will premiere on NRK in autumn 2024. Silje Burgin-Borch, Vegard Bjørsmo, and Kathrine Nedrejord are the writers. Alfredfilm/Feelgood Scene og TV is producing it in Kárášjohka during March and April. The production is seeking assistance in the technical and art departments, but they are also open to other potential trainees.


Practical Information:

The application is open for everyone, but Sámi and young trainees will be prioritized.
The production is set to Kárášjohka/Karasjok in Norway in March and April 2024. The trainee’s salary, travel, and accommodation expenses during the production period will be paid.

About Erasmus+:

The Erasmus+ project focuses on sharing knowledge, networking, and strengthening the borderless collaboration in film education in the Sámi. The project is a cooperation with the Sámi Education Institute, Kalix Folkhögskola, and the International Sámi Film Institute. The aim is to ensure that film education better meets the needs of the rapidly changing and developing film industry, especially the Sámi film industry.
