JUSSI AWARDS TO MÁHCCAN AND JE’VIDA

Máhccan wins the Jussi Award for Best Documentary Film

The Jussi Award for Best Documentary Film was awarded Máhccan on March 22nd in Helsinki.

The Jussi Gala also honored Suvi West and Anssi Kömi with the 20,000 euro Nordisk Film Prize for their film “Máhccan – Homecoming,” recognizing their contribution to Finnish film culture. The jury commended the film’s portrayal of contemporary Sámi culture as important, modern, and skillfully crafted.

Je’vida with Best Sound, – music, and – costume

Je’vida, directed by Katja Gauriloff, was awarded three awards at the Jussi Gala, for Best Sound Design, Best Music, and Best Costume.

  • Best Music: Laura Naukkarinen, Je’vida
  • Best Sound Design: Jukka Nurmela, Timo Peltola, Je’vida
  • Best Costume Design: Anu Pirilä, Je’vida
